Waits very clearly goes way before a G#2 - I wrote C#2 (Dflat2) but you could argue that he starts from C2. I'm not sure where this original notation comes from. Here's the song on his official youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuAMNIUFstg I also changed the genre because it's very clearly not rock in any way. Alice is a musical so it fits somewhat there, and I also chose folk because that's the only other descriptor I could think of.
