Winston Noren

Winston Noren is a versatile musician and distinguished voice educator who has been a faculty member of the Mount Royal University Conservatory since 1981, maintaining a studio of 40 voice students for over 40 years. He has been active as a teacher, conductor, and soloist for more than 35 years, bringing exceptional depth of experience to his teaching practice. Winston holds a BMus degree and is past president of the Calgary Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, demonstrating his leadership in the vocal pedagogy community. He is also a member of the College of Examiners of the Royal Conservatory of Music, regularly examining students across Western Canada. As an educator, Winston has given numerous master classes and workshops and is frequently engaged as an adjudicator for regional festivals across Canada. His extensive experience as a choral conductor includes leading the Caecilian Singers, a women's choir frequently recorded for broadcast by CBC Radio, conducting for the Alberta Summer Music Workshop, the Mount Royal Children's Choir, and the Calgary Gilbert and Sullivan Society. From 1997 to 2005, he served as Director of Music at the Anglican Cathedral Church of the Redeemer in Calgary, further demonstrating his versatility and commitment to musical excellence in the Calgary community.
