WeiShu Tsai
About
Dr. WeiShu Tsai is Assistant Professor of Voice and Voice Area Coordinator at Louisiana Tech University School of Music in Ruston. A Taiwanese baritone praised for his rich vocal color, wide range, and strong stage presence, Dr. Tsai teaches Applied Voice, Class Voice, Italian/German/French Diction, Vocal Pedagogy, and Opera Workshop. His repertoire is large and diverse, ranging from the seventeenth century to the present. As both a stage performer and concert/recital artist, his performance experience includes roles such as Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte with Dallas Classical Singers, as well as various roles with The Louisiana Opera and other companies. Dr. Tsai was named a finalist in the prestigious John Alexander National Vocal Competition organized by Opera Mississippi. He has been recognized for excellence in teaching and his students have consistently placed in NATS Conference competitions. Dr. Tsai is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and has performed with numerous orchestras and choirs throughout his distinguished career.
