Troy Cook
About
Troy Cook is an Assistant Professor of Voice at The Hartt School, University of Hartford. He is an internationally accomplished baritone who has performed leading roles at prestigious venues including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, New York City Opera, and Opera Philadelphia, as well as with opera companies throughout Europe and the United States. Cook has also performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, and the Hong Kong Philharmonic. With a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature and Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and German from Centre College of Kentucky, Cook brings extensive performance and teaching expertise to his studio. He maintains an active private studio and has led masterclasses and residencies at institutions such as the University of Denver Lamont School of Music, University of Texas at Austin, and major opera companies. Cook is recognized for championing contemporary opera, having created roles in numerous world premieres including Kevin Puts' Pulitzer Prize-winning Silent Night.
