Dr. Thomas Rowell is a Professor of Music at the University of South Alabama, serving as Voice Area Coordinator, Graduate Coordinator, and director of USA Opera Theatre. He is an active tenor performer who has appeared as soloist with major orchestras including Nashville Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, and Mobile Symphony. Dr. Rowell has performed over 40 operatic roles with regional companies including Mobile Opera and Pensacola Opera, with roles spanning works from Mozart to contemporary composers. He teaches studio voice, vocal pedagogy, and opera history and literature. Dr. Rowell is the current President of the Alabama Chapter of NATS with over 25 years of active membership in the National Association of Teachers of Singing. He has also served as Auditions Chair for Alabama Chapter and Southeastern Region of NATS, and has conducted the Mobile County Honor Choir and Mobile Opera Chorus.
