Thomas Rolf Truhitte is a renowned American heldentenor noted for his forceful performances in Wagnerian operas. Born in Hollywood, California, he is the son of actor Daniel Truhitte, best known for his role as Rolf in the classic film The Sound of Music. His middle name is a tribute to his father's most famous role. Throughout his distinguished career, Thomas has sung over 35 leading roles across the United States and internationally, including performances in Italy, France, Brazil, Canada, and Monaco. He has performed major operatic roles from composers including Wagner, Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Mozart, Strauss, and Beethoven. Notable performances include the title role in Parsifal with Geneva Opera and Siegmund in Die Walkรผre with other prestigious opera companies. As a resident artist with Opera San Jose from 1997 to 2001, he appeared in 11 productions in leading roles. In addition to his active performance career, Thomas now operates the Thomas Truhitte Studio of Voice in Sarasota, Florida, where he provides private voice lessons to students of various skill levels.
