About
Terry Patrick-Harris is a celebrated mezzo-soprano and Professional-in-Residence in Voice at Louisiana State University School of Music. She studied at Louisiana State University and later attended the prestigious Juilliard School of Music on scholarship, where she refined her craft under renowned master teachers. Following her time at Juilliard, she pursued post-graduate training at Hochschule für Musik in Munich, Germany, and received a contract with the Vienna State Opera Studio. Her extensive performance history includes major orchestras such as the National Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, and Minnesota Orchestra. She has worked extensively with New Orleans Opera and Wolf Trap Opera, and toured nationally with the legendary performer Jerome Hines. Her recordings include a Grammy-nominated album of Paul Paray's Joan of Arc Mass. As a vocal technician and literature coach, she specializes in musical theatre singing and vocal technique. Her students consistently succeed in state, regional, and national competitions, and many work professionally as university instructors, Broadway performers, and singers with major opera companies including The Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, and Chicago Lyric Opera.
