Tamara Acosta is an Assistant Professor of Music Performance at Ithaca College School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, where she has been teaching voice since 2017. A soprano, her performance career spans major opera houses including Lyric Opera Chicago, Santa Fe Opera, and Sarasota Opera. The New York Times described her singing as solid with a "clarion-toned and ardent" soprano. She co-founded ONEcomposer, an arts advocacy organization highlighting underrepresented composers. The group's Beyond the Years: Unpublished Songs of Florence Price recording earned a 2024 Grammy Award for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album.
