Sylvia F. Stoner-Hawkins is a Senior Artist-in-Residence in Voice at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, where she teaches private voice lessons to all levels, directs opera workshops, teaches performance classes, and leads master classes. A versatile performer with extensive regional opera experience, she has appeared with companies including Des Moines Metro Opera, Shreveport Opera, and Lyric Opera of Kansas City. A regional winner of the National Council Auditions for the Metropolitan Opera, she has performed chamber and contemporary classical works across the country. Her experience spans university settings and community programs, emphasizing both technical training and artistic development. She brings both her performance expertise and pedagogical training to her teaching, helping students develop vocal technique while exploring artistic expression.
