Dr. Suzanne Ramo is a soprano and Associate Professor of Voice at Texas State University School of Music in San Marcos, where she has taught since 2018. Her performances have been praised by critics, with the Amarillo Globe News noting that "Ramo brought Violetta to life with exquisite artistry, in her singing and in her acting" in her portrayal of Violetta in La Traviata, and the San Francisco Chronicle praising her "coloratura that one hears blazing forth brightly" in her performance as the Seraph. Dr. Ramo earned her BA in Vocal Performance from Whitworth College and both her MM and DMA in Voice from the prestigious University of Texas at Austin. She brings extensive performance experience in opera and concert repertoire to her teaching, having performed leading roles in major operatic works throughout her career. As a dedicated voice pedagogue, she maintains an active teaching studio at Texas State while continuing to perform and present at professional conferences on topics related to vocal technique and performance practice.
