Suzannah Park
About
Suzannah Park is a singer, teacher, and activist based in Asheville, North Carolina. She comes from a three-generation family of traditional singers, storytellers, and dancers and has been touring and teaching for over 30 years both in the United States and abroad. She is a member of the traditional music faculty at Warren Wilson College and serves as the founder and director of Wild Asheville Community Chorus, which grew from twelve friends in her living room in 2008 to approximately 100 singers per season. Her teaching style is characterized as playful and gifted, with immeasurable belief in each singer's abilities. She creates welcoming and vibrant spaces through her infectious love of music and community. Suzannah teaches songs by ear, welcoming singers regardless of music reading ability, and offers private voice lessons, vocal life coaching, and small group workshops. Her programs feature diverse musical traditions including South African, Balkan, Caucasus Georgian, and American Gospel and Shape Note music. Music is her vehicle for connecting people and transforming situations.
