Stephen Falbel
About
Stephen Falbel is a bass-baritone singer with deep expertise in early music performance practices. Based in Vermont, he has been active as a singer since high school and has performed with an impressive range of ensembles, from the 120-voice Tanglewood Festival Chorus to the Alba Quintet. Stephen studied voice for many years in the Boston area and performed with professional ensembles including the Boston Camerata and the Handel & Haydn Society. He brings extensive experience performing numerous roles in Gilbert and Sullivan operettas as well as major operatic roles including Sarastro in The Magic Flute and Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro with Echo Valley Community Arts. Stephen is a board member of the Monteverdi Music School in Montpelier, Vermont, where he teaches voice. He conducts the Green Mountain Monteverdi Ensemble of Vermont and is known for his deep knowledge of Monteverdi's works and historical performance techniques.
