Stephanie Weiss
About
Stephanie Weiss is an internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano and Associate Professor of Voice at Arizona State University's Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. Her distinguished performance career includes appearances at Carnegie Hall with Opera Orchestra of New York, and roles at Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Oper Frankfurt, Oper Leipzig, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Stadttheater Bern, Oper Dortmund, and Oper KΓΆln. She debuted with the Berlin Philharmonic as the Cook in Le Rossignol under the baton of Pierre Boulez. As a dedicated educator, she specializes in vocal pedagogy and works extensively with transgender singers, bringing a commitment to equity and inclusion to her teaching. She has also served on the faculty at University of Nevada Las Vegas, COSI (Centre for Opera Studies in Italy), and AIMS in Graz since 2010.
