Stephanie King LaMotte is an accomplished conductor, pianist, and music educator with over three decades of experience directing and accompanying choirs. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from San Jose State University and a Master's degree in Music with K-12 music certification from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Beginning piano lessons at age 5 and studying under renowned Japanese pianist Professor Aiko Onishi starting at age 12, Stephanie developed a strong technical foundation and passion for music education. Her extensive teaching career includes directing band, choir, and orchestra at the middle and high school levels, and serving as Creative Arts Director overseeing vocal, instrumental, drama, dance, and technical arts for a large metropolitan church in Portland. She has led five international choir tours including Germany, Ireland, Hawaii, Austria, and Canada, and frequently spends summers in Italy as a pianist with the Tuscia Opera Festival and International Lyric Academy faculty. In Chestertown, Maryland, Stephanie serves as the Music Director and Choirmaster for Emmanuel Episcopal Church and as Assistant Director and Pianist for the Chester River Chorale. She is also the Director of River Voices, an a cappella ensemble. Her work on the Eastern Shore brings her deep experience in choral music, vocal direction, and collaborative ensemble work to the vibrant musical community.
