Dr. Soon Cho is Associate Professor of Music - Voice at Pacific Lutheran University. A lyric mezzo-soprano, she has performed recitals, concerts and operas in Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Canada, France, Great Britain, New Zealand, South Korea and the United States. She has been acclaimed by Opera News for her 'potent' and 'intense and incisive' stage presence. Dr. Cho has performed at prestigious venues including Beaune International Baroque Festival in France, Forbidden City Concert Hall in China, and Ghent New Music Festival in Belgium. She has collaborated with major orchestras including Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, and Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra. Originally a pre-med major who began her musical training as a pianist and violinist, Dr. Cho is now a sought-after clinician, conducting master classes at institutions such as San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Ithaca College, and Florida State University. She serves as summer teaching faculty at the Brancaleoni International Music Festival in Italy and Icicle Creek Chamber Music Festival in Leavenworth, Washington.
