Solmaaz Adeli is a mezzo-soprano who has been praised for her wide range, agility, and the luster of her timbre, with a voice that spans three octaves. In 2016, she founded Voice Academy SOL in Santa Cruz/Los Gatos, California, which hosts performance programs including Sing with SOL, Vienna Intensive, and Solmaaz Adeli & Friends, emphasizing performance opportunities for students in the greater Bay Area and in Austria. Her career highlights include debuting Gluck's Orfeo with the Virtuosi Summer Music Festival in Connecticut, performing Ravel's Concepción in L'Heure Espagnole with Opera Academy of California and Island City Opera, and giving her European debut as Flora at the Vienna Chamber Opera. In Summer 2017, she performed the Austrian and American National Anthems at the US Embassy's Independence Day Celebration in Vienna for an audience of 3,000. Solmaaz is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and teaches students from elementary through adult levels, specializing in classical vocal technique, opera, and art song with a focus on developing range, agility, and expressive performance.
