Dr. Serena Hill-LaRoche is an Assistant Professor of Voice and Director of Carolina Music Studios at the University of South Carolina School of Music. A soprano and accomplished vocal artist, she performs frequently as a concert soloist and clinician in major choral works including Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915, Mozart's Requiem, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass. Her operatic career spans classical repertoire with roles in Carmen, Die Fledermaus, Così fan tutte, and Die Zauberflöte. Beyond performance, Hill-LaRoche teaches applied voice, vocal diction, and vocal pedagogy. She collaborates with pianist Catherine Garner on chamber performances emphasizing new music and underrepresented composers, and their album celebrating female composers was released with Albany Classical in 2023. She was a finalist in the 2003 Metropolitan Opera Auditions and a multiple NATS Award regional finalist.
