Sarah Pigott is a professor of voice and opera stage director at Mississippi College, where she directs Lyric Stage at MC and teaches voice in the Department of Music. A native of Germantown, Tennessee, she is a Mississippi College graduate who earned her Bachelor of Music in 2017 and her Master of Music in Voice Performance and Pedagogy in 2019, both from MC. Sarah was selected as one of only 12 early career voice teachers from across the nation for the prestigious National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) 2023 Intern Program. Her research interests include laryngeal manipulation, voice acoustics, and singing voice science. She co-hosts the weekly VocalFri podcast with Dr. Nicholas Perna and has given national conference presentations on vocal pedagogy. As a performer, Sarah has appeared in numerous stage productions including The Sound of Music at New Stage Theater in Jackson and Pirates of Penzance for Opera Mississippi.
