Sarah Neely
About
Sarah Neely is Instructor of Voice and Director of the Lyric Theatre at New Mexico State University, as well as a resident artist with El Paso Opera. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy, where she studied under Dr. Diana Allan and pedagogue John Nix. She earned a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from West Texas A&M University. Neely has performed with Amarillo Opera, The Redwoods Opera Workshop, and The Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival. In Summer 2018, she performed in the Sankt Goar International Music Festival and Academy Opera Audition Training Program in Germany, working with casting directors from European opera companies. At NMSU, Ms. Neely teaches applied voice, ear training/sight singing, class voice, supervised studio teaching, and directs the lyric theatre program, which is primarily opera-based and focuses on scenes from operas and operettas to give students experience with solos, duets, and trios. She lives in El Paso and serves as Voice Area Coordinator at NMSU.
