Sarah Maud Richardson is an accomplished jazz singer, songwriter, and voice educator from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Inspired by legendary jazz vocalists like Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, Richardson brings deep artistic sensibility and technical excellence to her teaching practice. As an Adjunct Professor of Jazz Voice at the University of Tulsa School of Music, she directs the TU Jazz Singers, where vocalists study and perform jazz classic compositions as well as standard songs from the Great American Songbook. Richardson is active in both Tulsa and Oklahoma City jazz scenes, focusing on collaborative recording projects and performances with regional and national musicians. Her teaching emphasizes the art of jazz interpretation, vocal improvisation, authentic phrasing, and emotional communication through music. She studied jazz voice at the University of Tulsa under Vernon Howard and has performed with notable musicians including Benny Golson and Jason Marsalis, bringing professional performance experience to all aspects of her teaching.
