Sara Lyme is a versatile music instructor and performer with a Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy and Psychology. She is classically trained but specializes in playing by ear and improvisation, making her an excellent choice for students interested in both classical technique and contemporary styles. Sara has studied music composition with renowned composers Ivar Lunde and Jim Machan, and studied violin under Marvin Suson, who performs for the Milwaukee Ballet. Over the last 30 years, Sara has performed with a wide variety of musical ensembles and bands spanning genres including pop, rock, country, Irish, bluegrass, and worship music. This extensive performance experience across multiple genres gives her the ability to teach students interested in diverse musical styles. Currently, Sara teaches voice, violin, piano, and guitar at Music & Arts in Spartanburg, SC, where she works with students of all ages and skill levels. Her latest solo project Sara Naomi can be found on major streaming platforms, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to music creation and performance.
