About
Samantha Guevrekian is an accomplished soprano and voice instructor based in Scranton, PA, where she operates the Electric City Voice Studio. With a pure, sweet-sounding soprano voice, she brings extensive professional opera experience to her teaching. Samantha is currently a member of the voice faculty at Marywood University, one of Northeast Pennsylvania's premier music institutions. Her career includes performance with prestigious opera companies including The Glimmerglass Festival, Syracuse Opera, Ash Lawn Opera, Opera New Jersey, and The Metropolitan Opera, where she served as a member of the full-time chorus under Maestro Donald Palumbo, performing six days weekly in 150-170 performances per season. She has received numerous awards from prestigious organizations including the Metropolitan Opera National Council Competition, The Gerda Lissner International Voice Competition, The Giulio Gari Competition, and the Jenny Lind Competition. As Music Director for St. John Vianney Parish, she combines her extensive performing background with a passionate commitment to vocal instruction. She specializes in developing healthy vocal technique while maintaining artistic expression across classical, opera, and contemporary repertoire.
