Sahoko Sato Timpone is a Japanese American mezzo-soprano and Associate Professor of Voice at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), beginning her position in August 2025. The New York Times has praised her as "impressive," and New York Arts described her rich, glowing tone. She is an accomplished concert and opera singer with an extensive performance career spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. Timpone made her Carnegie Hall debut performing Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields under the direction of Sir Neville Marriner. Her recent notable performances include Verdi's Requiem at Carnegie Hall with Masterwork Chorus, Mary in Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer with Opera Maine, and Mahler's Second and Third Symphonies with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and Florida State University Symphony. As a sought-after clinician, lecturer, and researcher, Timpone has presented for distinguished organizations including NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing), NOA (National Opera Association), CMS (College Music Society), and NYSTA (New York Singing Teachers Association). She brings expertise in classical voice pedagogy and contemporary vocal techniques.
