Dr. Ryan W. Sullivan is the Director of Choral Activities, Coordinator of Vocal Studies, and an Associate Professor of Music at Arkansas State University. He directs the Concert Choir, Jonesboro Chorale, and Singing Statesmen while teaching conducting and music education courses. With a D.M.A. in Choral Conducting from the University of North Texas and previous roles as Associate Conductor for the Dallas Symphony Chorus, Dr. Sullivan brings extensive professional experience. He has conducted numerous premieres of operatic and choral works and maintains an active profile as a festival conductor and adjudicator across multiple states and internationally, including guest teaching at German conservatories. His scholarly work focuses on performing arts health and performance practice, and he was a GRAMMY Music Educator of the Year Award nominee in 2026.
