Rozlyn Sorrell
About
Rozlyn Sorrell is a New York native vocalist who has been a featured soloist with the North Carolina Symphony since 2004 and regularly performs with the Durham Symphony as well. She is the Founder and Director of Vocal Precision Studio, her private vocal coaching business in Raleigh. Rozlyn has performed and recorded with renowned artists including Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Al Jarreau, Cece Winans, and Norman Connors. She was selected among vocalists from around the world to earn a scholarship to study and perform at the Assisi Performing Arts Festival in Assisi, Italy. Her theatrical credits include acclaimed performances in productions at PlayMakers Repertory Company, Burning Coal Theatre, Justice Theatre Project, and Theatre in the Park. In 2013, she was recognized as Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Ruined, and in 2011 won Best Musical Director in the Triangle by Independent Weekly. Rozlyn incorporates years of experience as a teacher and her acute knowledge as a performing artist to assist corporate professionals in improving their communication skills and vocal presence.
Education & Qualifications
BA in Theatre Arts and Education from Hunter College, City University of New York; MS in Special Education (Speech for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing) from Hunter College, CUNY. Scholarship recipient for Assisi Performing Arts Festival in Assisi, Italy.
