Roza Tulyaganova
About
Dr. Roza Tulyaganova is an Associate Professor of Voice and Director of Opera at Mississippi State University. A soprano from Uzbekistan, she moved to the United States in 2000 and has performed major and supporting operatic roles across the country. Dr. Tulyaganova specializes in opera direction and contemporary composer collaboration. She is fluent in multiple languages and has served as an Italian language educator at Middlebury College and as a principal Russian language coach for opera productions. She is the founder of Shyps and Roses, a vocal ensemble devoted to the performance of traditional Russian folk and art songs, which won the Artists International Chamber Music award.
Education & Qualifications
Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music (2007); Doctor of Musical Arts from Stony Brook University. Awards include two-time Metropolitan National Council Auditions district winner, 2002 NATSAA competition district winner, and University of Nevada Las Vegas concerto competition winner.
