Ronald G. Burrichter
About
Professor Emeritus Ronald G. Burrichter is a distinguished voice and choral music educator at the University of Florida School of Music, where he has taught since 1984. A lyric tenor with extensive performance experience, Professor Burrichter maintains an active schedule as both a performer and educator. He is widely recognized as a choral conductor respected for his meticulous attention to the musical phrase and the vocal health of the young voice. His performance credits include multiple appearances at Carnegie Hall under the direction of renowned conductor Robert Shaw, with whom he performed at the Robert Shaw Festival Singers for four summers in France. Professor Burrichter co-directed the UF Chambers Singers, which performed at the White House Staff Christmas Celebration (1988), and has led ensembles on European tours, including Austria and France (1995). His expertise in vocal pedagogy extends to community leadership, as he serves as a choral adjudicator and clinician across North America, known for promoting healthy vocal production and artistic excellence. In his academic career, he teaches studio voice and voice skills at the University of Florida, providing instruction to undergraduate and graduate voice students. Professor Burrichter holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, and a Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory. He is currently serving as music director with Dr. Brenda Smith for the Oak Hammock Singers, a community chorus serving older adults, demonstrating his commitment to lifelong musical engagement and vocal wellness.
