Robert Lischetti

About

Robert Lischetti is an accomplished operatic tenor and prominent voice instructor in the Sarasota/Bradenton area of Florida. He graduated from the Crane School of Music at the State University College at Potsdam with a degree in Music Education in 1974, and began his singing career as an apprentice artist with the Lake George Opera Festival. Between 1981 and 1987, he lived in New York City, where he studied with Franco Iglesias, a renowned baritone and teacher of Placido Domingo. During this period, he expanded his sacred and oratorio repertoire as tenor soloist at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church and performed with the New York Choral Artists, New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Opera Northeast, Virginia Opera, Syracuse Opera, Indianapolis Opera, and Opera Delaware. From 1987 to 1997, he spent ten years in Germany singing as a guest artist in numerous opera houses, including regular performances at the Staatsoperette Dresden and the Landestheater Dessau. Since returning to the United States in 1997, he has sung with Sarasota Opera, Sylvan Opera of Philadelphia, and Gold Coast Opera Company. He taught class voice and applied voice as a faculty member at State College of Florida for six years and served as the Music Director for the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota from 2009-2023. Robert is known for his comprehensive teaching approach, offering private voice lessons, vocal coaching, music reading and theory instruction, and language coaching in German and Italian.

Bachelor of Music Education - Crane School of Music, State University College at Potsdam, New York (1974). Studied with Franco Iglesias in New York City. Extensive performance training through apprenticeships and guest artist positions throughout North America and Europe.
