Dr. Robert Brandt serves as Associate Professor and Division Coordinator for Vocal Division—Classical at BYU School of Music. He joined BYU following seven years teaching at the University of Delaware (2007–2014). Dr. Brandt brings wide-ranging performance expertise with a particular interest in art song repertoire. He has had success performing both opera and oratorio, with operatic credits including Michele in Il Tabarro, Demetrius in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Mandryka in Richard Strauss's Arabella. Opera News praised his performance as Mandryka, noting he had amazing clarity of diction. Dr. Brandt teaches Vocal Pedagogy and French Diction at BYU. His students have consistently performed well at NATS chapter and regional auditions, are consistently accepted into prestigious summer and graduate programs, and have had professional success on operatic, concert, and Broadway stages.

Education & Qualifications

D.M. in Vocal Performance and Literature (Minor: Music History) from Indiana University (2010), M.M. in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University (2004), B.M. in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University (2002). Studied with renowned soprano Costanza Cuccaro at Indiana University.
