Dr. Robert Bracey is a distinguished Professor of Voice and Chair of the Voice Area at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro School of Music. With over 40 years of music education experience, Dr. Bracey is an accomplished tenor who has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Russia, Europe, India, and Japan. He won first place in the Oratorio Society of New York International Solo Competition at Carnegie Hall and was a regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Auditions. Dr. Bracey also received first place in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Regional Competition. His performing career includes debuting with the Detroit Symphony at Orchestra Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC with the Choral Arts Society of Washington. His students have performed with prestigious institutions including New York City Opera, Salzburg State Theatre, Brevard Music Center, and Chautauqua Institution. Previously, Dr. Bracey served on the faculties of Bowling Green State University and Michigan State University, where he was Chair of the Voice Area. He taught voice at the Michigan All-State program at Interlochen Arts Camp for twelve summers. Dr. Bracey holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Voice Performance and a Master of Music (MM) from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Michigan State University.
