Richard Zeller
About
Richard Zeller is an accomplished opera and concert performer with over 1,500 performances to his credit. Known for his beautiful dramatic voice, solid vocal technique, and outstanding musicianship, Richard has worked extensively with world-renowned conductors and solo artists. A graduate of the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program and Metropolitan Opera debut in 1989, Richard brings world-class training and professional performance experience to his teaching. He has taught across all genres including classical opera, music theater, pop, contemporary and commercial music, Christian music, blues, jazz, and rock. As Director of Opera and Associate Professor of Voice at Biola University's Conservatory of Music and Adjunct Professor at Portland State University and University of Oregon, Richard maintains a private voice studio in Portland with online lessons available worldwide. He serves as voice teacher for Portland Opera's Young Artist program and is an Artist in Residence at Oregon State and George Fox Universities.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from George Fox College. Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Artist Diploma in Opera from CCM. Voice studies with Andrew White and Armen Boyajian. Opera acting studies with Italo Tajo at CCM. Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program graduate.
