Renée Tatum
About
Renée Tatum is a mezzo-soprano recognized for her commanding and dramatic presence in operatic performance. Her career spans major opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera with approximately 100 performances over 10 years, San Francisco Opera, and Houston Grand Opera. She has performed with major orchestras including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony, and New York Philharmonic. Her repertoire includes demanding operatic roles such as Flosshilde and Waltraute in Wagner's Ring Cycle, Azucena in Il Trovatore, and Cornelia in Giulio Cesare. She regularly performs major choral works including Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Mahler's symphonies, Mozart's Requiem, and Verdi's Requiem with leading orchestras. Currently serving as Assistant Professor and Area Coordinator of Voice at the University of Tennessee's Natalie L. Haslam College of Music.
Education & Qualifications
Artist Diploma in Opera Studies from The Juilliard School (2010), Professional Studies Diploma from Manhattan School of Music (2007), Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Manhattan School of Music (2006), Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from California State University Fullerton (2004). Adler Fellow at San Francisco Opera, Lindemann Young Artists Program alumna at The Metropolitan Opera.
