Phillip D. Hill
About
Dr. Phillip D. Hill is a voice instructor at the University of Texas at El Paso, where he teaches Applied Voice, Song Literature, and Voice Pedagogy. He joined the UTEP faculty in Fall 2018. A baritone, Dr. Hill earned his Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Texas at Austin, and his Bachelor of Arts in Voice Performance from Mississippi College. He won the 2007 Austin Critics Table Award for Outstanding Classical Singer and studied under renowned soprano Leontyne Price via master class. Dr. Hill has extensive international operatic and oratorio performance experience, with significant roles including Papageno in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Falstaff in Getty's Plump Jack, baritone soloist in Orff's Carmina Burana, and various Bach cantata solos. His expertise spans classical vocal performance, vocal pedagogy, and song literature, with a strong foundation in university-level teaching.
