Peter Steenblik
About
Dr. Peter Steenblik is Associate Professor and Director of Choral Activities at the University of West Florida and serves as Artistic Director of the Choral Society of Pensacola. He is President-Elect for the Florida chapter of the American Choral Directors Association and received the 2023 FMEA College Music Educator of the Year award. An active baritone, Steenblik is a former member of the Tabernacle Choir where he also made frequent solo appearances. His career includes conducting honor choirs across multiple states, collaborating with organizations like the Pensacola Opera and Utah Symphony, and serving as presenter, adjudicator, and clinician at various choral festivals and conferences across the United States and internationally. At UWF, he conducts the UWF Singers and Concert Choir, and teaches conducting, choral literature, and methods courses. Dr. Steenblik has also directed handbells, composed music, and provided musical theater direction.
