Paula Corbin Swalin
About
Paula Corbin Swalin is a Senior Lecturer and dedicated voice faculty member at the University of New Mexico, where she teaches vocal pedagogy, advanced vocal pedagogy, vocal repertoire, film music history, and coordinates collaborative outreach focused on students vocal health. A trained Singing Voice Specialist (NICEV), Paula brings extensive expertise in vocal health and pedagogy to her teaching. A particular focus of her research and study is adult learning in online modes and the brains role in singing and motor learning tasks. Her students advance to prestigious post-secondary programs and are active performers and respected music educators in the United States and abroad. As a soprano, Paula has performed in numerous concerts and recitals throughout New Mexico, with recent performances including C.P.E. Bachs Magnificat, Mendelssohns Elijah, Vivaldis Gloria, Mozarts C Minor Mass, Pergolesis Stabat Mater, Mozarts Requiem, and Samuel Barbers Knoxville Summer of 1915. She has performed with the New Mexico Philharmonic and other regional ensembles, bringing her artistry and vocal expertise to audiences throughout the region.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor of Music from University of New Mexico. Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature from Eastman School of Music.
