Patricia Stiles
About
Patricia Stiles is a mezzo-soprano and Professor of Music in Voice at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she has taught since 1998. She has enjoyed a successful 20-year international singing career, performing over 70 operatic roles including Carmen, Dalila, Eboli, Octavian, Orpheus, and Cherubino in prestigious opera houses such as the National Theater in Munich, Semperoper in Dresden, and Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center. Her students have been winners of numerous competitions, including the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Hilde Zadek Vocal Competition, Opera Columbus' Cooper-Bing Competition, and many others. Being bilingual, Professor Stiles teaches fluently in both English and German and has presented master classes in Germany, Austria, Italy, Mexico, Russia, and the United States. Her students have gone on to serve on voice faculties at universities across the country.
