Patrice Burgstahler is a lyric coloratura soprano and voice teacher based in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was brought to attention of the music world with a critically acclaimed portrayal of Cunegonde in Leonard Bernstein's Candide at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. She performed the role of Carlotta in Andrew Lloyd Webber's German production of Phantom of the Opera for ten years at Hamburg's Neue Flora Theatre, earning the role from 800 auditions in New York City. With an extensive performance career spanning the United States and Europe, Patrice has performed leading roles in operas by Donizetti, Gounod, Mozart, Strauss, and Verdi. Her career highlights include winning first place in the Regional San Francisco Opera Auditions and the Rocky Mountain region Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. She appeared with Boston Opera, Denver Opera, and New Jersey Opera in roles including Lucia di Lammermoor, Musetta in La Bohรจme, Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, and other principal soprano roles. After returning to Colorado from Europe, she taught applied voice, vocal diction, and related voice classes at Northeastern State University for four years. Now based in Northern Colorado, she operates a private vocal studio emphasizing healthy voice and sustainable technique with an individual approach addressing each singer's vocal needs.
