About
Ok-Sim Nam Kim has been a member of The Music Settlement's voice faculty since 1990, bringing over three decades of dedicated vocal instruction to Cleveland. A skilled soprano, she has performed operatic roles including Violetta in La Traviata, Micaela in Carmen, and Gilda in Rigoletto. Prior to joining The Music Settlement, she taught music at Kangwoon High School in Seoul, Korea for ten years and won first prize in a competition for music teachers sponsored by the Ministry of Education of South Korea, demonstrating her excellence in music pedagogy. Kim is an active participant in the Cleveland music community, serving as a member of the Governing Council of the Art Song Festival since 2007 and as a conductor for multiple church choirs including Fairmount Presbyterian Church choir in Cleveland Heights, Euclid Lutheran Church, and Temple Israel Ner Tamid in Mayfield Heights. She is a member of Mu Phi Epsilon, the National Music Honor Society, underscoring her commitment to musical excellence and professional standards. Her teaching emphasizes classical vocal technique, artistic expression, and performance readiness.

Artist Diploma in Voice from Cleveland Institute of Music. Master of Music in Voice and Choir Conducting from Ouachita Baptist University. Bachelor of Music from Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea.
