Nathan De'Shon Myers is a versatile baritone and Associate Professor of Voice at Arizona State University's Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. His hybrid career spans 20 years and encompasses professional international performances in opera, jazz, and gospel, along with extensive teaching experience. Myers has performed with prestigious companies including Lyric Opera of Chicago, Dallas Opera, Berliner Staatsoper, and Minnesota Orchestra. In addition to his voice teaching role, Myers serves as Conductor of ASU's Gospel Choir. Prior to joining ASU in August 2018, he was the director of the music conservatory and head of opera studies at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, where he led and managed teachers while maintaining an active performance career. His passion for education and performance creates a unique teaching approach that bridges classical opera technique with contemporary vocal styles.
