Narlene Allen is the owner and vocal coach at Vocal Artz Studioz in Ogden, Utah, with over 34 years of teaching experience. She received her B.S. Degree in Theater Arts with a Musical Theater Emphasis from Weber State University. Early in her career, she was trained in the western classical style where she learned a strong technical foundation based on breathing, ease of phonation and vocal chord dexterity. As her education and experience continued, she branched into Musical Theater (Mix and Belt), Jazz, Pop, Country and Rock styles. Her teaching specialties include vocal technique (posture, breathing, range expansion, resonance, vibrato, belting, voice-over), performance coaching (stage presence, audition preparation, mic technique), and vocal health and rehabilitation. As a performer, her credits include The Pirated Penzance at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Pioneer Theater Company, The Grand Theatre, Weber State University, as well as Man of La Mancha, Children of Eden, and Maury Yeston's Phantom at The Grand Theatre. She emphasizes personalized coaching to help students discover their unique vocal gifts and build confidence as performers and communicators.
