Nancy Kelly
About
Nancy Kelly is a jazz vocalist who has been a dominant figure on the Central New York jazz scene for more than 40 years. She was twice named Best Female Jazz Vocalist in the Down Beat Readers Poll and was inducted into the Rochester Music Hall of Fame in 2022. Kelly has received 4 SAMMY Awards for Best Female Vocalist and Best Jazz Group and the 2018 Jazz-N-Caz Award for her contributions to the local jazz community. She studied voice at the Eastman School of Music and has recorded six critically-acclaimed albums, with her first recording Live Jazz reaching #11 on the Billboard jazz charts. Kelly has been the guest Vocal Jazz Clinician for the past 6 years at CNY Jazz Center in Syracuse, offering private lessons to students of all levels and ages.
