Nancy Harris is a singer, actress, recording artist, vocologist, voice teacher, clinician, adjudicator, writer, and mentor specializing in jazz, musicals, opera, and theatrical performance. She has operated The Voice Builder since 1974 as an independent voice teacher and vocologist, conducting workshops and lessons in singing, stage presentation, speech, vocal pedagogy, and storytelling. With over 40 years of experience in teaching voice for both singers and speakers, Nancy currently accepts students from age 9 and up, with former students having been in their 80s. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes holistic vocal development by addressing the whole singer through integrated approaches combining Eastern and Western philosophies, energy work, and voice science. She builds student confidence and capability while providing both technical vocal training and mentorship support. Her professional background includes work with Opera Colorado, Denver School of the Arts, and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
