Myra Vassian
About
Myra Vassian is an Associate Professor of Instruction at Texas State University School of Music in San Marcos, where she has taught since 2017. Prior to joining Texas State, she served on the voice faculty of the Evening Division of the Juilliard School of Music for 10 years and maintained a studio of private voice students in Manhattan since 1996. Ms. Vassian earned her BM in Voice Performance from Baylor University and her MA in Voice from Western Carolina University. She was awarded an International Rotary Scholarship to attend the Conservatory of Music in Zurich, Switzerland, where she remained for five years, earning a Performing Artist Diploma from the Biel Opera Studio. Her extensive performance experience in Switzerland and the United States includes opera, musical theatre, and concert work. As a dedicated teacher with over 25 years of experience, Ms. Vassian brings a wealth of pedagogical expertise from her work at Juilliard and private teaching in New York City.
