Mikayla Fender is an accomplished music educator and performer based in Columbia, Missouri, specializing in voice, piano, and ear training instruction. A recent graduate of Central Methodist University with degrees in music, Mikayla has been singing since the age of ten and demonstrates exceptional musical versatility. She initially studied voice in college, then picked up piano the summer before attending CMU and completed degrees in both disciplines. During her time at Central Methodist University, Mikayla maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout all four years of study, graduating a semester early in December 2022. While at CMU, she actively participated in the Worship Band, Jazz Band, and Conservatory Choir, gaining comprehensive performance and ensemble experience. Currently, Mikayla regularly plays, sings, and leads contemporary worship music at local churches throughout Columbia, and performs as lead singer and keyboard player for her cover band, which she co-founded with her husband. Her greatest passion lies in contemporary worship music, though she also demonstrates deep appreciation for musical theater and pop styles. She particularly enjoys teaching students new to music and helping them develop foundational knowledge and skills through structured, supportive instruction at A Major Music Lessons.
