Melodie Galloway
About
Melodie Galloway is Professor of Music and Director of Visual & Performing Arts at UNC Asheville, where she serves as Director of Choral and Vocal Studies. Named Ruth Paddison Distinguished Professor of Music and Drama in 2025, she brings world-class choral direction and voice instruction to students. Her choirs have performed at prestigious venues including the White House (2006-2022) and Carnegie Hall (2012). She conducted the Eastern European premiere of Dan Forrest's Requiem for the Living in Vienna, Prague and Salzburg (2017). Her scholarship includes the choral music of Dave Brubeck, combating vocal aging, music and wellness, and the migration of Celtic music to Appalachia. She is a renowned choral clinician, guest conductor, composer/arranger and consultant.

Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Florida State University; Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting from University of North Carolina at Greensboro; Director of Choral and Vocal Studies certification
