Megan Stapleton
About
Dr. Megan Stapleton serves as Assistant Professor of Voice Studies at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, where she teaches applied voice, opera workshop, musical theater workshop, vocal literature, and vocal pedagogy. She most recently made her Lincoln Center debut as the soprano soloist in Dan Forrest's new oratorio, Creation. As a baroque singer, she has been a featured soloist with Ars Lyrica, Mercury Orchestra, Houston's Bach Society, Austin Troubadours, Lumedia Musicworks, and other chamber ensembles. Her professional career includes singing with The Boston Early Music Festival, Boston Opera Collaborative, SoHIP, and Boston Metro Opera. She has premiered works at Houston Grand Opera and performed with Charlottesville Opera, GLOW Lyric Theatre, Kingwood Pops, Greenville Concert Band, and BJU Symphony Orchestra. Her extensive work in children's programs includes performances with Houston Grand Opera in Opera To Go!, Storybook Opera, and First Songs.
Education & Qualifications
Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance with a related field in Vocal Pedagogy from The University of North Texas; Master of Music with honors from New England Conservatory; Bachelor of Music with honors from Sam Houston State University.
