Matthew Plenk is an Associate Professor of Voice and Artistic Director of Lamont Opera Theatre at the University of Denver. A graduate of the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, he made his Metropolitan Opera debut in 2007 as the Sailor's Voice in Tristan und Isolde under the baton of Maestro James Levine. He has since returned to the Met multiple times, performing in productions including Makropulos Case, Il Tabarro, and Hamlet. Beyond the Metropolitan Opera, Plenk has performed with Central City Opera, Colorado Symphony as a soloist in Bruckner's Te Deum and Beethoven's 9th Symphony, and leads Lamont's opera productions. His teaching combines active professional performance experience with comprehensive vocal instruction.
