Matthew Oglesby is an Associate Lecturer in Voice and Vocal/Choral Area Coordinator at West Texas A&M University School of Music in Canyon, Texas. A prolific tenor soloist on the operatic and concert stage, Mr. Oglesby has performed with Moores Opera Center and Amarillo Opera in roles including Lindoro in LItaliana in Algeri, Cold Sassy Tree, Italian Straw Hat, and Candide. His concert performances include tenor solos in Carmina Burana, Mozarts Requiem, Handels Messiah and Elijah, and Beethovens Ninth Symphony. He earned his B.Mus. from the University of Houston and M.A. in Vocal Performance from West Texas A&M University, studying voice with Joseph Evans, Dr. Robert Hansen, and Mila Gibson. In 2008, Mr. Oglesby was selected as one of twelve participants in the prestigious National Association of Teachers of Singing intern program. He appears on the premiere recording of Dominic Argentos Casanovas Homecoming. As a dedicated educator, Mr. Oglesby serves as All-State Choir Camp Coordinator at WTAMU, Master Teacher for Conservatory Theater in Amarillo, and provides master classes at regional and national institutions. His extensive teaching and performance experience make him a valued voice instructor in the Texas Panhandle region.
