Mary Laymon brings over 36 years of professional voice teaching experience to her Minneapolis studio. She teaches adults and teens of all skill levels and abilities from her professional home studio located just west of Minneapolis' North Loop. Mary's teaching philosophy emphasizes helping students sing naturally, focusing on breathing, resonance, diction, and developing musicianship, all within a supportive and motivating environment. Her method centers on foundational vocal technique combined with emotional confidence-building. She is a former instructor at MacPhail Center, a respected music education institution in Minneapolis. Mary offers individual 45-minute voice lessons, vocal coaching for recitals, competitions, and performances, and hosts studio recitals at least twice annually with optional student participation. Her extensive experience and understanding of vocal anatomy have made her one of the most established voice teachers in the Twin Cities area.
