About
Mary Bonhag is an extraordinary vocalist and music educator based in Burlington, Vermont. Described as an exceptional performer committed to the healing powers of song, she specializes in both contemporary music and sacred traditions spanning centuries. Mary studied voice at the University of Michigan and Bard College under the mentorship of renowned soprano Dawn Upshaw. She has attended residencies at SongFest, Fall Island, and Tanglewood. Mary is well-known throughout Vermont as a soloist and concert presenter, performing regularly with TURNmusic, VSO Jukebox, Capital City Concerts, Craftsbury Chamber Players, and as Co-Artistic Director of Scrag Mountain Music, which she co-founded in 2010. She teaches voice at the University of Vermont as an Affiliate Artist. Mary was featured on NPR's Performance Today and has performed with 21st Century Consort and San Francisco Contemporary Players.
